The story of Marie and her Nutcracker is a seasonal favorite for many families. Synetic Family Theater will surprise their audiences not only with a new location and a new stage, but also with a new version of the popular story.

Lilia Slavova's original script is based on the book by E.T.A. Hoffmann and includes the full story of "Nutcracker and Mouse King". Her vision is to introduce children to the reason behind the transformation of the Nutcracker.

To tell this tale within a tale, Lilia Slavova, as a director and set designer, chose to use grand costume masks, intricate puppets, and innovative puppetry techniques developed by master puppet maker Vanya Vasileva. The signature movement of Synetic Company Members is put on display by the magical choreography developed by Irakli Kavsadze. The enchanting musical score includes not only Tchaikovsky-- but Beethoven as well, along with other classical composers. This inaugural production at our new stage in Crystal City it is sure to bring new light to a much beloved winter tale.
