The Master and Margarita reunites Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili in an adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s masterpiece about the devil’s visit to Stalin’s Moscow – a powerful tale about the juxtaposition of good and evil, sacrificing for love, and artistic struggles in a repressive society. A supernatural, exotic fusion of text, startling visuals, physicality, and humor, this metaphorical play will be re-imagined and redesigned by Synetic’s award-winning artistic team. The Master and Margarita is performed at the Lansburgh Theatre in a continued special alliance with The Shakespeare Theatre Company, the first of two shows to be staged at the Lansburgh by Synetic this, Synetic's 10th Anniversary, season. RECIPIENT OF THE 2005 HELEN HAYES AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY, RESIDENT PRODUCTION.

“Practically every scene with Margarita and the Master is a treasure, so sure are the Tsikurishvilis of their craft, so exquisitely chosen and calibrated are their movements. When they finally come together, you are greatly moved...” – The Washington Times

The Master and Margarita stars Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili and features company veterans Scott Brown, Philip Fletcher, Chris Galindo, Alex Mills, Ben Russo, Ryan Sellers, Sarah Taurchini, and Armand Sindoni as Woland. With newcomers to the Main Stage–Chris Dinolfo, Katherine Frattini, Shana Greenbaum, Lauren Elizabeth Kieler, and Richie Pepio.
