DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Synetic Theater seeks a Development Intern to support the Development department. The Development Intern at Synetic Theater is responsible for executing development activities to cultivate individual, corporate, government and institutional donors, resulting in increased contributed income to Synetic Theater to support its mission and strategic plan.
Reports to: Director of Development
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute development activities to cultivate, solicit and steward individual, corporate, government and institutional donors, resulting in increased contributed income to Synetic Theater to support its mission and strategic plan. Responsibilities include researching existing and new donors; scheduling donor meetings; sourcing new grants; tracking, processing and fulfilling donor gifts; and coordinating donor events.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Excellent writing skills (writing sample required)
- Superb attention to detail
- Team player, adaptability, and willingness exceed expectations
- Knowledge of D.C. philanthropic community, preferred
HOURS AND COMPENSATION:
- Minimum 2 days per week in Crystal City, VA
- Small stipend to cover transportation cost
- Available as soon as possible

BOX OFFICE MANAGER
Synetic Theater is currently seeking a Part-Time Box Office Manager for Crystal City performances to start immediately.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Printing out tickets and handling will-call for main stage productions.
- Execute ticket orders and exchanges.
- Assisting patrons during show hours.
- Help with concessions.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with birthday rentals, and audience management.
- Handle customer issues, complaints, and inquiries. Field patron questions.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will have customer service experience and proficiency on Microsoft systems. Previous experience in a box office environment is helpful, but not required, training will be provided. This position will require working Thursday and Friday nights and weekends.
Pay: $12-14 an hour

MARKETING INTERN (Winter)
Synetic Theater, DC’s Premiere Physical Theater, is looking for an intern to assist in marketing for the Winter and/ Spring semesters. As a marketing intern you will be maintaining press and mailing lists, assisting in brochure distribution, managing Synetic website content, press release editing, as well as aiding in some graphic design tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in spreadsheet making, as well as working with all Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel and Word).
- Team player, ability to exceed expectations, and a willingness to do so.
- An interest in the arts.
- Some experience in graphic design and/ website content management.
Hours and Compensation:
A minimum of 2 days week at the Synetic office in Crystal City; a small stipend for travelling expenses is provided; start date flexible.
